I can just see these poor people in the pews with their golashes and their ear muffs.

I drive by a construction site here in New Braunfels everyday where they’re building a church. It’s a shame because I know the property – it floods really, really bad and it’s right up against the train track. I mean at that distance these trains are so loud you could be in a concrete bunker and you wouldn’t hear yourself think. And every heavy rain is bound to be all inside that building. It just looks like nothing but trouble ahead. I’m thinking everyday as I pass by that these guys just can’t be very smart. They put up the sign and I’m not kidding, it says “Coming Soon The Universal Unitarian Church”.
She’s having a great time. The storm passed Friday night without any trouble and the weather, even the very next day, has been fine. She called this morning to say that it was so nice that they all slept on the beach last night. It sounds like it has turned out to be a great end of summer trip. She starts her third year of college in September.
Jimmie ran the program and also turned up Unitarian Universalist. Several others did, too. Not bad for a bunch of Baptists.
Well, I am finally Blogging…… took long enough…..what year is this?……
Anyway, just did the religion selector deal for fun.
Until today, I was not quite sure what a Unitarian Universalist was, but apparently
it’s me! 100%…….After reading up on it a little, sounds ok….
Not surprised by the runner-up Buddhist movement. What surprised me a bit was the third place, 88% Neo-Paganism. Didn’t know I had it in me!!!
Next up was Lynne. She’s 100% Neo-Pagan! Who wouldv’e thunk it?!?!!?
She’s also part Druid……and Wicca!!!! Holy Cow!!!!
So next year, we will be the ones dancing naked, in the moonlight, around an
18” tall replica of stonehenge at Blue Hole!!!!!!!!!
OVER!!!!!!! SUMMER IS ALMOST GONE *sob* why ….why *sob*. Hey I got an idea, can one of you people adopt me please or maybe can I move in with someone please pretty please. But really I’m ok with going back to school and see all my friends but I would much rather take summer than school. Well wish me luck, bye.
Hey Zanna, Say Zanna, Rosanna Danna Ho Zanna – spell checker. Lord knows I need it.
This is new. In the post window, check out the button with the ABC and the check mark. Kim says the upload file next to it isn’t working yet but it may be that it will allow everyone to post pictures easily. This is part of the Pro version that Blogger is letting us use because they feel that we are all very good looking. Or because Kim sent an email about that outage last week and they appreciated it.
We’ve had this all along but I’m not sure everyone knows it – try the search feature right under the calendar. Again, only if you have logged in and are in the posting window, put in anyone’s name, or “camping” or “party” and just every post where that name or word appears is shown and the rest are temporarily not shown. It’s great way to see if everybody’s talking about you.
Looks like you had better luck with that than I did. I used the religion selector and found out that I’m a Frisbetarian. The core belief is that when you die your soul lands on the roof and you can’t get it down.
Since my answers to this Religion Selector matched their philosophy 100%, apparently, I am a Secular Humanist. Who knew?
From the FAQ of the American Humanist Society: “As Kurt Vonnegut succinctly described: being a Humanist means trying to behave decently without expectation of rewards or punishment after you are dead.”
On Aug. 27, the Earth will pass within 34.7 million miles of Mars.
If that seems quite a distance, compare it to the nearest star beyond our own sun. If someone were standing on the nearest star and flashed a light, that signal would take four years to reach Earth. If the same were to happen from Mars on Aug. 27, it would take the light just three minutes to arrive.
We went up to the river this afternoon, under a pecan tree and beside to a cliff for a pic-a-nic celebrating Dallas, Winona and Chandra’s combined birthdays. No mortal house could hold it.
