Joe King Carrasco

I was surprised to see that Joe King did a taping recently on Humble Time which is a small Saturday afternoon concert that’s recorded and played on KFAN each week. You can go here and listen to the archives of old shows. And here if you want to see info about playing the show. Anybody that wants to play can and they have great hamburgers there. It’s right near Taylor’s school, right across the highway from our house.

Read Joe King Carrasco’s writings here. Here’s one about his movie making.
Here’s his Mexican Alter art.

I have a picture of Mitch running in front of MusicMakers in Joe King’s red velvet cape and crown – I’ll try to find it. I don’t recall how it is that we came to be in possession of Joe’s jewels. Here’s a photo of the King now. I haven’t seen him in 15 years – looks like it HAS been a Party, Party Weekend.

Another of life’s little lessons

If you go see your friends play at the old Elbow Room on Austin Highway and have a great time and sit and laugh and tell stories with them during their breaks and play pool and drink, among other things, an Electric Blue Kamikaze, and crawl into bed after 3:00 in the morning… you will wake up with a hangover. Thank Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton and ads on The Grand Ole Opry for BC Powder after which I now feel fine but it was touch and go when the sunlight first stabbed through the window. I was laying in bed thinking it must have been like how Renee felt the morning after the Christmas Party. That says a lot. The manager sat with us for a while and told stories about the crazy old lady that used to own the club and about Mitch having a great show there a couple of weeks ago. It’s right across from Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery and that has a lot of history attached to it. It kind of gave us fond memories of the crazy old Time Out Club which was just a mile or two from there. That would only mean something for those who used to go see The Jimmie Whipple Experience play there twenty years ago. Anyway, the boys were both staying over with friends and we had a fun night out “in support of the arts“.

Wired News: Kazaa Delivers More Than Tunes They’re talking here about anything that’s an executable file. Music files don’t cause a problem but program files are bad news.

If you snore so loudly you wake up your neighbor in Dunn, North
Carolina, you are in trouble with the law.

ULTIMATE ALLERGY PROTECTION for the whole family!

This should cover just about anything EXCEPT snoring, depending on the location of the snorer and the snoree.

Might be prudent to go on record here…

that smothering the snorer is against the law. Even in Texas.

Better than smothering the snorer?

Do they send you a big pillow in case that snoring device doesn’t work? Of course, maybe if I got him the pollen-banning sunglasses his snoring wouldn’t be so bad! Hmmmm… that’s one clever company – covering all the bases.

This is the coolest

Clock in the world.

Maybe I should buy this.

It “delivers a silent, harmless electropulse” to the thoughtless snoring person keeping you awake!
