Slaid Cleaves will be playing at the River Pub from 7:30 to 9:30. The Lighted River Parade is about a mile upstream from there at 9:00 and the Fireworks start at 9:30.
I think we’ll be able to see (and hear) the fireworks from the River Pub, but anyone that wants to can walk upstream along a nice hiking path.

map showing where the fireworks are (Sewell Park).
My suggestion is that we go to Rio Vista Park (across the river from the River Pub) in the early afternoon (say 2:00?) and set up base camp (There’s an entrance to the park from Cheatham Street). We’ll grab a table with a grill. From there folk can shuttle upstream and float back down. You can rent a tube for $6 if you want (we’ll bring all we have). It’s a swift and gentle ride – no paddling needed, good for all ages. It’s also great fun to play in the waterfall there.
Come early and stay late or come late and leave early – we’ll be there the whole day and into the night at the Whippleworld Independence Day Outpost.

This guy has been saving pennies! Now he has a million of them and can’t find a way to cash them in without paying a fee.
He had a bet with his brother and won lunch in Paris. He did, however, lose his garage to the mass of pennies collected.
I think I may have swept a few into the trash – now I have no regrets.
