My yard is full of these

It’s a Zebra Longwing butterfly. They breed and lay eggs on native passionflower vines. I have one just outside the livingroom window. Great fun!

Evan was mad because he wanted a gun. This is the continuation of that story. His Uncle Bill heard what Evan wanted and bought him the best pellet gun that money could buy. It’s amazing and has a professional rifle scope. Evan is the happiest kid you ever saw. Here he is with his best friend Matt. As you know, we’re not gun people so this is just one of those things that a kid finds interesting on his own. BUT, growing up with Roy Pattillo, I know firearm safety like the back of my hand and I can verify that Evan is extremely safe. But I watch him to make sure. Does he not look like a real Texan firing at the old cactus/deer skull/wash tub target?

    The joke of the week

Okay just so that my dad will stop nagging me about not being on the Blog enough I’ve decide to start the joke of the week, that way I’m guaranteed to get on the blog at least once a week. Well without further adieu I give you the joke of the week.

A group of girlfriends are on vacation when they see a 5- story hotel with a sign that reads: “For Women Only.” Since they are without their boyfriends and husbands, they decide to go in.The bouncer, a very attractive guy, explains to them how it works. “We have 5 floors. Go up floor-by-floor, and once you find what you are looking for, you can stay there. It’s easy to decide since each floor has a sign telling you what’s inside.”So they start going up and on the first floor the sign reads:”All the men on this floor are short and plain.” The friends laugh and without hesitation move on to the next floor. The sign on the second floor reads: “All the men here are short and handsome.” Still, this isn’t good enough, so the friends continue on up.They reach the third floor and the sign reads: “All the men here are tall and plain.” They still want to do better, and so,knowing there are still two floors left, they continued on up.On the fourth floor, the sign is perfect: “All the men here are tall and handsome.” The women get all excited and are going in when they realize that there is still one floor left. Wondering what they are missing, they head on up to the fifth floor. There they find a sign that reads: “There are no men here. This floor was built only to prove that there is no way to please a woman.”

    Gmail is too creepy

I guess I’m just naive. I’m not afraid of the FBI, or saving stuff forever, or even having targetted ads to not look at. Maybe I’d feel different if I had something to hide. I can see how it might make you nervous if you have a marijuana farm in your basement. But that stuff makes you paranoid anyway.

Mother, here’s the Casey baby photos you asked for. An authentic Texas rocker, huh? That is, of course, a Sennheiser 421 she’s singing into. As you remember, she’d swing it over, off the drum set, flip it up and sing into it day after day. It was right at her height.

They’re teaming up with Ashanti, Tarantino in “The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz” (an ABC original movie). Don’t worry, Quentin is not directing, just performing a cameo written just for him. Miss Piggy is the wicked witch.

I’ve never had a flu shot.

But I almost got one last year. Then I read that if you get the shot one year and skip the next and you DO get sick it will hit you harder than if you are not vaccinated. I can’t remember the last time I had the flu.
Do you guys get the shots?
    Why or why not?
In this article they say more dangerous strains are overdue, but the vaccines might not help anyway.
