I’ve bought and sold studio gear out of the Pro Audio Martketplace newsletter for 10 years and it’s predecessor for 10 years before that. I got this surprising email from them today. “FREE FOR ALL! We’ve changed our format…browsing the ads is now free for everyone! Subscriptions are no longer required, and advertising is only a small fee of $3 per classified ad.” http://www.proaudiomarketplace.com

This isn’t a political statement, it’s just funny. When I first saw it, it took a second to figure out what was making my brain itch. With any luck, this will be the last odd balloon picture of the month.

    It’s Monday

So to cheer you up from those Monday blues here’s “The Joke of the Week”

Moses and Jesus were in a threesome playing golf one day. Moses pulled up to the tee and drove a long one. The ball landed in the fairway, but rolled directly toward a water hazard. Quickly Moses raised his club, the water parted and it rolled to the other side, safe and sound.
Next, Jesus strolled up to the tee and hit a nice long one directly toward the same water hazard. It landed right in the center of the pond and kind of hovered over the water. Jesus casually walked out on the pond and chipped the ball onto the green.
The third guy got up and randomly whacked the ball. It headed out over the fence and into oncoming traffic on a nearby street. It bounced off a truck and hit a nearby tree. From there, it bounced onto the roof of a shack close by and rolled down into the gutter, down the drain spout, out onto the fairway and straight toward the aforementioned pond. On the way to the pond, the ball hit a stone and bounced out over the water onto a lily pad, where it rested quietly. Suddenly a very large bullfrog jumped up on a lily pad and snatched the ball into his mouth. Just then, an eagle swooped down and grabbed the frog and flew away. As they passed over the green, the frog squealed with fright and dropped the ball, which bounced right into the cup for a hole in one.

Moses turned to Jesus and said, “I hate playing with your Dad.”

I really like discontinued the Queen Bee guitar straps - they’re made of really soft, flexible vinyl - but you probably need a heavy duty sewing machine to sew vinyl.

Sparkle Craft also makes pretty kewl guitar straps. She’s in Austin, part of the Austin Craft Mafia.

My favorite is Sublime Stitching. Her patterns are so cool, they make me want to learn to embroider. And I’d love to comission her to embroider an album cover - here’s her custom embroidery site.

Here’s some of the photos we took at the fair, as promised. We’re trying to get back into the groove of taking photos. These are the odder ones, a combo of Taylor taking art shots and me trying to pose the family. It was all really low light and this camera really can’t do it but it leads to a cool look some times. Where ever you see something that looks like the moon, it is. And we’re fascinated with those giant spotlights. We met the owner, they were salvaged from the California coast where they were built to comb the skies for enemy planes during WWII. And, I loved the booth here called “Make A Hit Record”. You would’ve thought I’d have stood there all night handing the guy money, throwing balls and not figuring out how it’s rigged. But then there’s all day for that.
