    Wanna start your car

with a USB Flash Drive? I guess that’s the future. The key to Casey’s Honda has a computer chip in it so it’s already going down that path. Bet they’ll be able to record engine info and GPS tracking data on them in the future like an airplane’s black box.

I’ll sit down at the computer and, before I start working, I’ll pull the handle five times to see if there’s any winners. It pulls up interesting sites and you click a button to register whether you liked it or not. It uses that info to continually hone in on what’s good. A very cool new community powered thing on the Internet. Anyway - photographs of Hawaii came up this morning.

Couldn’t find the power supply and the scanner didn’t have the power supply requirements listed on it. Took what I thought was a pretty high percentage guess from a pile of about 20. You win some, you lose some……Pow - blown. :( . But, if nothing else, I had to digitize this photo before getting this stack of photos back to Aunt Pat.

you better behave. I have a whole bag full of Ain’t Pat’s (yes she is) photos scanned and I’m ready to post ‘em!! MAKE MY DAY!. I love this photo. I would have cropped it to show more of my sisters but that’s the fender of Renee’s VW convertible and how, in Whippleworld, could that be lefted out? Wouldn’t you love to have that car now? What year is this?

    The MTV Video Music Awards?
    What a pile of crap.
Used to be fun to watch because there were lots of good performances: i.e. people who actually played instruments or sang melodies with their own voices. This show was 99.9% (c)rap.
Except for Green Day and Kelly Clarkson I found the program completely inaccessable.
Tell me I’m not just getting old.
I hated disco and I hate rap because I love REAL MUSIC. To me, rap is a half step down from karaoke.

Her new people took Beauty to Petsmart yesterday. Seriously. Without a muzzle. And she did great. They said she just kind of looked down her long nose at the other animals imperiously. She has trained them to hand feed her. Shadow is living like a prince in Spring Branch. He has his own Mom, Dad, three boys and a grandma who worship him. Also a beagle-y friend named Cici, a one acre fenced yard and two cats. He loves living in the house.

Looks like both adoptions are going to take!

Jessie and her two pups, Loretta and Dodger, make a funny little pack. Lots of swimming and chewing and playing - oh my! It’s nice to have a more manageable number of dogs. I’m really happy about it all.

News about BitTorrent and eDonkey. Then Sony and Mashboxx. You can kinda follow the soap opera just by reading a couple of industry articles a month. Read the part where Lack tells the guy “I’m going to make you a millionaire”. That’s a story in itself.

Kaleidoscope. This guy has a lot of stuff like this on his site. Taylor, here’s some acting lessons. He says money smells like feet. Evan, these days, one way to get flash programming work is to make a site like his and people with projects find you.

Check out the cat one. Renee and Randy had a very smart cat like that who would fetch.

The Station Agent. We were shocked. It was like seeing Harold and Maude, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest or King Of Hearts - a masterpiece. Low budget, super 16 film. Every shot in the movie is a work of art. You gotta love it.

The 2005 Texas Grammy hot air and cocktail party division

held a thing over in King William “Celebrating Women In Music” tonight. It was in a really cool building directly across the street from where we used to go hear Los Number 2 Dinners play at The Friendly Spot. Where Jimmie and I played Jimmie Reed and Wilson Pickett hits to the Alamo Heights yuppies thirty years ago. This was a little like that. The banner said “From Destiny’s Child to Kelly Clarkson”, who, of course weren’t there. But Las 3 Divas set up and played the show they rehearsed for Las Vegas and they rocked hard enough to put everybody’s jaw on the ground. I had my two promotions guys stop what they were doing and spend the day yesterday inviting photographers. More than half the people there turned out to be people we invited. Our photographers ate all their food, it was pretty funny. It was like “I need to take a picture of this cocktail wiener with my stomach”. But the organizers just loved the westside Tejano paparazzi flashing up against their Grammy photo backdrop so all was forgiven. We’re just doin’ our job. I stand a pretty good chance of getting some impressive photos in the papers and on the Internet and that could help sell records. The Divas’ CD goes on sale Sept. 6th.

    What do we have here?

More flickr benefits? People are starting to use flickr to share advice on photo taking and digital photo image enhancement. What a perfect venue to do it in. I’m reading this stuff about the Photoshop unsharp mask tool which just about every digital photo needs and a feature of Photoshop that we could all learn how to use better.
This. And this. And don’t forget this. And then there’s discussion about wild things like how to get the Lomo KBG spy camera effect. It’s endless.
