This takes a while to load but it’s totally amazing. Sometimes you won’t see anything but sometimes you’ll see big caravans of National Guard trucks. This guy is in a high-rise building on a main downtown road. The story is here on his blog.

processor power from their home PC to make one big computer to help in the search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence. Here’s the story and the software to download. They’re using UC Berkley info and they call it The Search For Extraterrestrial Intelligence @ Home. We didn’t find any here at our home. Here’s another info page. See how the @ sign and the person makes a radio telescope in their logo? Very well designed.

What time is it there?

just called and she’s spearheading a family and friends trip back up to the Medina for Monday. I think the puppies and us will take the opportunity to camp Sunday night, if any wants to join us.

Charity for the victims.

They’re bussing 25,000 refugees to San Antonio – housing most of them out at Kelly USA. I don’t think anyone knows how many thousands are coming on their own. Tejas is going to make a cash donation to the San Antonio Food Bank today. If anyone else is interested, you can do it over PayPal. And they’re doing a food and personal hygiene item collection at the H.E.Bs today. The food bank has been a charity that we and the music community have supported here for years – all the “bring a can of food and get in free” promotions you hear all the time. It really does work. Goodwill of San Antonio is going to give clothing directly to people. Without the National Red Cross there would just be chaos, they’re able to bring big money in from all over, but I just think that local charities need local support because they put items of need right in the hands of the victims.

Here’s performance info on the local Food Bank. The range is 0 to 70 and they are 66.55 which is much higher than most.

Katrina

The evacuation of the entire population of a major city. It’s hard to believe that’s even possible. An entire population where everyone lost and hundreds of thousands lost everything – it’s so heart breaking.

Prayers Welcome
