It’s coming right up, not this Sunday but the following Sunday. It’s going to be really cool. Here’s the webpage of info. Please drop in there and leave some comments. I’ve been talking to him and besides the fact that his performance is going to be great, there’s info that we can share back and forth with him. Like a lot our musician friends around here, he’s doing it under his own label and is selling the CDs himself - only up north which is a whole different world. I think some really good contacts can be shared between him and us.

    bagel.jpg

a bagel that Jimmie gets from somewhere that has lots of sun dried tomatos in it, toasted nice and brown. Then back into the toaster oven that we got for our wedding 27 years ago with plenty of not sharp but EXTRA sharp cheddar cheese to melt on top. Regular sharp is not nearly as good as EXTRA sharp. Sharper is gooder. And a whole alvacado divided between them. Bad to the bone. It’s an Atkins diet killer.

    COOL SNAKE!!! pool snake

Jimmie was going out to the pool about 15 minutes ago and this snake was sitting there in the tree 3 feet away right at eye level, just chillin’ out with his body resting in the pocket of the leaf net. We’d been hearing mice eating out of the dog’s food bowls on the deck in the middle of the night - wondered why that suddenly come to an abrupt end. So… we love our new Whippleworld snake. Keep it up, dude - could we offer you an after dinner mint with that live rodent buffet? Reminds me of the Farmer In The Dell nursery rhyme. “The mouse gets the dog food, Hi Ho The Dairy 0h.” Then, “The snake gets the mouse, the snake gets the mouse…”. We love living in the country.

We’ve posted his art several times over the years. I think this is new, I wonder if that’s the artist being saved from a burning building. For those who can’t tell right off, that’s a street art drawing on a flat sidewalk. This guy is a master of perfect perspective.

    DeirdresPainting.jpg

Deirdre’s house this year, I looked up over the table and snapped this quick, mostly out of focus photo of the painting she has kept in their living room for just about forever. Casey is 23 now and she was about 6 at the time. This was a mother/daughter project that Jimmie and Casey created specificaly as a gift for Deirdre as a thank you for being so important in their lives. The rest of us can like it on it’s face value but it has a special meaning to those three that only a peice of art can contain.

    Amazing how the Internet

didn’t turn out to be all cold and impersonal like everybody predicted it would. Like restaurants where the owner has a bad personality, sites without interesting people behind them just fail. You get to know people a whole lot more than I ever thought would happen. Jimmie’s gotten to know the Sharkbitten guy, Cap’n Kelly, etc. And of course there’s Dooce. Me, I like KrazyDad. He’s the guy that wrote the very cool kaleidoscope program that Taylor was so into a year ago. Here’s his new thing. If you don’t see what’s cool about that then I don’t even know you. Notice that he has all the covers “arranged horizontally by time, and vertically by average hue”. Read some of his stuff, this guy is a hero of the Internet.

This is the caption the guy who took this photo put with it: Launch of Space Shuttle Endeavour from Pad 39B on mission STS-97. This is a five minute exposure taken from the Causeway (about 7 miles away from the pad). Taken with a borrowed all-manual Nikomat camera, 24 mm lens, f/16, Kodak Royal Gold 100 film. When the exposure was stopped in this shot, the shuttle was approximately 229 statute miles downrange.

    MYSTERY PLANT!

Here is the Mystery Plant. It started growing right about Easter. It is now about 7 ft. long and has a veggie or fruit growing. Actually about 4 things growing on it. It has beautiful large yellow blooms in the morning hours. The largest thing (pictured below or above not sure how it will post) was about the size of a baseball 10 days ago. As you can see it is much larger and very fast. I thought it was a Calabacita Tatuma, but I know I am wrong. Now I am guessing either a pumpkin or watermelon plant. Any suggestions? Besides just wait and see? Thanks for any input…. Chandra
At least I know that my pots do have tomatoes in them….. and doing great I might add… :)
