Hard to believe, but I didn’t blog this post on Popgadget. Somebody else posted this MG Music . I thought it’s just the kind of thing that ya’ll would appreciate. Of course, I particularly enjoy That’s Echo Folks . If you scroll down, you could even take a listen to the samples.
Here we go…. The girls REAL 1st trip to Port “A”..
Let’s look cute for Daddy.
Their 1st Sand Castle.
Of course we did most of the work.
Arghhhhhhhh, THE BIRDS.. It was so much fun feeding the seagulls in Rockport.
I truly believe they were completely worn out…

she’s muli-talented. I’m taking this as part of the attempt to have photos of all the ones she’s made. She’s made tons and there’s a baby out there for each one. This one is for Ken and Pat Taylor’s daughter Suzanne’s new baby. Hillary is throwing a baby shower at her and Mitch’s house and we’re getting ready to head over.

Wow. This town is just too much. You take away the gossip factor (read: you go to lunch with someone of the opposite sex, and boom!, you’re sleepin’ together) and this town is just about perfect. We played a gig tonight with Al at the Twisted Vine and it was just amazing. First of all, it was a celebration of July birthdays. It was just incredible. We got people there who NEVER….EVER….go out to the wine bar. So, Al is a very generous guy and there happened to be some folks from Mexico attending some kind of workshop at the University. He loves music, they love music, boom, they’re the opening for the gig tonight. They were a group of 4 young folks with 2 guitars singing Mexican traditional and pop tunes. Al played Flamenco after that. He’s really good. The Mexican group and their entourage really dug that. Then we played and had a lot of fun. Al and Randy played a Flamenco tune that they worked up yesterday. I was very impressed. We ate cake, played some more and then invited a friend of a friend to come up and sing with us because we’ve heard tales of his talents. I left the stage and let them at it. They did Get Rhythm, Understand Your Man, Counting Flowers on the Wall, and a Johnny Rodriquez tune written on a napkin. It was sooooooo coooooooool. Drew has a voice. I mean, I was sooo impressed. Little did I know what was yet to come. I actually missed some of it because I was talking to Harry Benjamin at the bar. I would have said “Pipe down, dude” but it was Harry Benjamin, very cool local artist guy. (Wander around that site, he’s a real character….and talented. I remember Randy and I, while doing our research before moving here, saying that we really wanted to meet this guy. We’ve been to his studio and have met him around town but tonight was the first time we had a real conversation.)
Jim, the owner of the Twisted Vine, has recently added a grand piano because there’s a concert pianist in town. I learned this first because I inquired about the piano and thought “oooh, that sounds fun, piano night once a month.” Weeeeelllllllll, the concert pianist showed up and before too long I hear German opera….live. Drew and Julie, the concert pianist, are going to town and, honestly, I just can’t really describe how beautiful it was. Seriously, it took me a while before I could even leave my chair.
There is so much talent in this town.
I decided to experiment with this a little more. These are random pictures streaming from Evan’s storage space on Flickr. I’m trying to get the photos to size down inside the frame. Until then, if your face gets cut in half in one of these slides…. no offense intended.
Here’s a fun site I just found: Secret Fun Blog
Trust me, you’ll like it.
Joohn T Unger made a bottle tree!
Can you believe the skunk beat me to it?
Well, maybe it’s easy to believe because he’s hyper-productive and I operate slightly above sloth speed.
I designed all these symbols myself with a compass, ruler and protractor. I was commissioned to do this piece for someone on DeviantART
DeviantART has become a really popular site and I’m the only one on there doing this kind of art.

Liquid water is essential, beautiful, powerful, and completely strange.
The substance whose properties we take for granted actually acts like no other liquid on the planet. It expands when it freezes, holds heat exceptionally well (allowing Europe to have a moderate climate instead of a Siberian one), and has a high surface tension (allowing plants to pull water up from their roots). Fish and other lake life survive the winter because water’s maximum density is several degrees above the freezing point; cold water sinks to the bottom, but water close to freezing resides at the top, ultimately forming a protective layer of ice. Water can put out fires, even though its individual components–hydrogen and oxygen–incite flames. And liquid water is an ideal solvent for the biological molecules and systems that help us circulate oxygen in our bodies, reproduce, and exist.

I love the idea of having the best of both worlds, and these folk are doing it in style with thier amazing country porch and meadow overlooking Metropolis itself.
Tiffany and I spent the day together and had a great time! I can remember when this pecan tree was just a twig. . . .see how big it has grown!
