    Dear Friends & Family,
As you know my mother Dallas has been courageously battling stage IV Lung Cancer and we learned yesterday that it has significantly progressed & come back with a vengeance. The odds are not in her favor, but we are remaining strong and ask for your prayers & positive thoughts please.

Due to the aggressive nature and widespread growth, chemo is no longer a viable option so she will be participating in a Phase I experimental treatment & quality of life clinical trial in hopes that some new medication may possibly assist. You never know & it’s worth a try.
Plus, will help others suffering this disease in the long run.

Thanks again for your time and prayers. My mother & family really appreciate it!

    Love,
    Winona & Matt

from 1 Pixel Out puts a slick little flash audio player inside a post. Two steps, first FTP an MP3 to the audio folder on the server (if you don’t know how to do that then it’s time to learn because it’s a main step in having a website) and then inside your post put the word audio then a colon followed by the name of the mp3 - all with a pair of brackets around it. I installed the plugin, here’s all the info. Basically all you have to do is enter this anywhere in your post audio:name_of_mp3_file.mp3] and the play button will appear in that exact spot. It needs the bracket at the beginning, I had to leave it off or it’ll put a player there in the middle of this text. The audio folder is setup in the root directory already so you newly FTP hip like Deirdre can follow the instructions and make a player happen. Look how cute the tiny little interface is.

he posted the photos I sent him of the Blaze O’ Glory sculpture he gave us. Mitch and Sissy and a couple of other people are in those photos. It’s fun to see them up there.

anyway, for $10 these guys will tell you if your song is a “hit” or not. Listen to the very interesting NPR interview here, it’s classic. They say that the major labels are using their service. Ever see the movie Brazil? This is how central processing would A&R records. Welcome to the future!

Russell and Sissy - on April 28th, 1979

I love this photo. Russell was Best Man and Sissy was Maid Of Honor at our wedding. That’s Aunt Inez, the family’s angel over young boys, grabbing Jack Wickham. Russell in his blue suit with Deirdre next to him. Then Tom Kidwell with Renee behind him. In the back it’s Jimmie’s mother, Jimmie’s sister Dallas Louise (Sissy) and Mr. Webb.

In going through old boxes of photos for Jimmie’s birthday I found some rare ones that had been set aside because the focus was soft or the photo processing got the colors wrong… or whatever. But here’s a couple out of this stack, they seem really cool and artistic now.

Somewhere back in time, somewhere in Mexico. This photo captures Jimmie pretty well.

    Jimmie_Mexico_Hammock.jpg

Jimmie at about 20 years old before we were married when we were working on the little house in Gruene.

This is in a really cool little room we rented outside of Cancun in the 70’s.

and my favorite, sitting on top of a small mountain overlooking a Mexican bay. Jimmie worked for Southwest Airlines during this stretch of time. She was making a sketch that I think she still has somewhere. I wish I could find it, I’d scan it and put it up here. All of these will enlarge if you click on them.

    your blog doesn’t like me anymore… :( i
i’ve just tried to post a comment under jimmie’s birthday card again, but i don’t think it worked. i do usually fill in my name as Maggie, and this gmail address, but not in the Website column. one interesting thing that i noticed is that the comments count jumped from 40 to 41 after i posted, but under the actual comments there were still only 40. same thing happened last couple of times too. thanks john.
