My 1939 Mercury Convertible. . . .

December 23rd, 2007 @ 11:39

I saw this car while looking for something else accidentally.

The memory kinda brought a rush to my whatever. . .Mine was the same color except for the right front fender which was red.. The top on mine was white but outside of that it was exactly the same. The shifter was 3 speed on the floor and it had a radio head in the dash that controlled the radio by 3 cables routed to under the right front seat. . . in a box about a foot square. The big speaker was behind a large grille in the dash. It had 3 wide whitewalls, a spare and a jack and was nicely kept. No dents on the body or holes in the upholstery. . . .and the top worked great and did not leak. This must have been in 1953 when it was 13 years old. . . . .I was 15.

I bought it from a salvage yard on Somerset Rd. for $40.
