the turtle.
Not talking speed but about his campsite on his back. This photo will impress different people for different reasons. For me it’s the whitewall tires and those packs. If you had to pack everything you needed to get you across a continent over a month’s time could you get it into three by three by three feet? I know Brad well enough to know that each and every piece of kit packed there is something he knows he’ll need. And I know he’ll have everything he needs because he thought about it and planned it to T. He’s got the experience to know, more than any of the rest of us have. After camping each time he packs it back just right like getting an airplane ready to fly. Look how absolutely gorgeous that motorcycle is! It’s a piece of art that deserves being photographed in front of that background. Click on the photo to enlarge it so you can see the detail. We’ll miss him on the river tomorrow, I wonder where he’ll be on the 4th of July? Here’s his link.
I think Whippleworld is a long time fan of TED Talks. Here’s a unusual one you might like. I would guess that Jimmie, Deirdre and specially Taylor would like this particular one the best. Have a great 4th of July!
I talked to Bill Steagall this morning and he’s thinking about a start time more like 3:30. If you want to get there a little early and swim, that’s cool. Please bring something for the potluck food table. Bill will have plenty of hot dogs. He also said to bring a watermelon if you have one. Bring your guitars, we’ll play. And bring any kind of thing you have that people can float in the river on.
To clarify the map….. from S.A. exit Ruekle Rd., just south of New Braunfels. Go left over the bridge and around the loop several miles to River Rd. There’s a big gas station on the left at that intersection, I think it’s a Texaco. Turn left and then right on Edwards. The address is 1565 Edwards. Looking forward to floating next to you in the nice cold Guadalupe River.
Somehow when a vehicle becomes involved in part of our lives it almost becomes a person you can carry on a love/hate relationship with depending on the relationship.
I remember it usually parked in strange places and waiting to do the next thing that trucks do. Which, of course is everything, I guess! I don’t think she ever expected to part with it, ever! I don’t remember where it ended up, I just remember it driving and boasting adventurers of the teens.
It was also bronze brown brown. Maybe a little darker and it’s wheels were not quite as fancy, and maybe you could throw in a dent or to or two.
No, I don’t think this was it, but, I think she is going to look twice because it sure fits the memory.
and pointed out that we fail starting at #1 and very consistently break these rules all the way to the last one. Light one at a time? This is Whippleworld!
Pass on the tradition, practice firework safety!
* Follow instructions and use common sense.
* Always have close adult supervision and never give fireworks to small children.
* Never point or throw fireworks at another person.
* Use only in a clear area away from buildings, vehicles and shrubbery. Have water handy.
* Never carry fireworks in your pocket or shoot them in metal or glass containers.
* Light only one firework at a time.
* Wear eye protection and never have any portion of your body over the firework.
* Never attempt to relight a firework.
We’ve been visiting a friends pool during this month of 100+ degree days.David has become very comfortable with his ability to swim. He also helps out by cleaning the pool!
Hope you enjoy! Hillary & Mitch & David
