A great example of being moved by something heard or read and turning it into a song. I can hear Bocastria doing a cover of this and taking it even more Latin. It would be great.
“Scalzo of Fastball was inspired to write the song in 1997, after reading an article about an elderly couple who had disappeared in Texas. The couple was on their way to a family reunion when they disappeared. Scalzo imagined that they decided to take off on their own romantic trip; however, the true story was the elderly woman had actually had Alzheimers, and the man was recovering from brain surgery. The real-life couple had veered off the road in their RV and were found lifeless at the bottom of a canyon.
Perhaps the part of the song most inspired by the story is that the couple was found in Arkansas, nowhere near Texas where they had originated – hence the idea of being on the road forever.”
