HOW TO INSTALL A TEXAS HOME SECURITY SYSTEM:

1. Go to a secondhand store and buy a pair of men’s used size 14-16 work boots.
2. Place them on your front porch along with a copy of Guns & Ammo Magazine.
3. Put a few giant dog dishes next to the boots and magazines.
4. Leave a note on your door that reads:

“Bubba,

Bertha, Duke, Slim, & I went for more ammo and beer. Don’t mess with the pit bulls; they attacked the mailman this morning and messed him up bad. I don’t think Killer took part, but it was hard to tell from all the blood. Anyway, I locked all four of ‘em in the house.

Ya better wait outside. Be right back.

This is a wonderful short piece I wanted to share with you.
All Hallows’
By Jim Coudal

For a string of Halloweens during the late ‘90s in Chicago, a group called The Redmoon Theater created a street pageant along five blocks of a beautiful old graystone-lined boulevard in Logan Square. Like the neighborhood itself, the one-night festival attracted an economically and racially diverse group of people who wandered between “stations,” elaborately constructed set pieces, like scenes from a medieval mystery play or from Bergman’s Seventh Seal.

Each year the pageant was organized around a theme related to the historic meaning of Halloween as a celebration of the dead.

Have you ever been paid “weakly”? Songs like this were in that cusp between the Ralph Stanley three part harmony bluegrass sound and Country and Western pop music. The spot where Elvis and Buddy Holly punched through and anglicized rock and roll.

We saw this live at the Spurs game last night, and it was truly amazing.

Manu Ginobili’s career has been marked by the big moment on the big stage.

He’s played in Game 7s, and he’s played for Olympic gold.

Perhaps his greatest athletic achievement, however, came on an otherwise non-descript Saturday night at the AT&T Center when, with the
