Here are some photos of old mics that we used last week at Abbey Road. Some go back to 1931. The old ribbon is always seen on Ringo Starr’s drums and that’s what we used it on. The EMI 47 and the other one are the ones that were used a lot on Beatles vocal sessions. The orchestral set up shows the size of Abbey Road 2 well. It is pretty much the same room as it always was. TIf you look hard enough in one of the photos you can find the cellist Ophelie Gaillard who we were recording for our new joint venture company in France. Studio 1 can be seen on my Myspace photo section and is much bigger.

Hi all, just returned from our anniversary trip to Bordeaux. St. Emillion is a wonderful town where we stayed. Very mystical. Under the 14th century main bell tower and church there is a complete alternative underground church as well. Incredibly well preserved. Better than all of the Da Vinci code stuff. The real thing. It’s locked most of the day but occasionally they do a tour in French. Cassell lit candles for us all. Sending our best. C&C

Hi all, We will be traveling tomorrow in Brussels , having a meeting with a cellist , then on our way to Paris on Sunday. We’ll stop by this place and have our graduation lunch and hoist a few for Taylor. Love, C&C

For those who remember this brilliant bluegrass player please do check out Sierra Hull on Youtube. Uncanny similar style. For all I know she’s hugely famous in the U.S. (at least she should be) and you probably know her well but we don’t get too much of this type of stuff in the UK.
